+Lovely large rooms with rustic furniture. +Clean rooms +Modern quite ac +Great location and amazing vista from the rooftop Overall a pleasant stay, but we felt the room tariff was a little steep for what you got.
- No view from most rooms contrary to the hotel description - Services such as TV, internet access, fridge, safe etc. were not available contrary to the hotel description. - Dirty tables in the restaurant put us off dining there - Hopelessly slow service at breakfast. Pricy food and beverages (30Rs for a tea!) - The usual issues at Indian hotels: Hot water not switched on until you complain. The ' forever broken credit card machine' (I assume they have to claim they accept cards to get listed on internet booking sites but don’t want to pay the merchant fees). - A good deal of noise from the street and neighbours thanks to the heritage style porthole windows and missing glass, but all quiet after midnight. Tip: Always try and prepay online as the chances are you hotel's credit card machine will be “broken”. Using a credit card in India is risky as fraud is rife anyway.
Beautiful, huge rooms with very large beds. The rooms are also very nicely decorated and the whole hotel has great decor. We had a lake-view room which was an additional bonus. Staff are a huge asset - they all made us feel very welcome and were extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooftop restaurant overlooking the lake has a view to die for and is a great place for dinner and drinks. Breakfast is tasty and there is lots of choice. Walking distance to all sights and monuments in Udaipur.
Udaigarh has a stunning roof top pool and restuarant. The food was great and the service was fabulous. One of the chefs even woke up at 4am to make us all breakfast as our flight was leaving at 8am. He did it all with a smile. The shower in the room was a nice warm and it was a rain type of showers, beautiful. The rooms are decorated nicely. Our room didn't have a tv which didn't affect us too much but may others. The manager at the reception was very helpful with arranging a booking for us at the Jagmandir Palace even though we were told it was all booked out.
The internet didn't work the whole day we were there and only works in the reception area when it does which is not that convinient.
